We've been touting the benefits of the Baratza Encore grinder for years. But, admittedly, it's fallen a bit short when it comes to home espresso. Which is unfortunate, because it's an amazing grinder at a fantastic price and from a great company.
Well, apparently we weren't the only ones seeing that issue. Enter the Baratza Encore ESP grinder especially for espresso lovers.
The Baratza Encore ESP changes the lower end of the grind settings to allow you to very accurately dial in espresso. Plus, they've added in the burrs that were originally put on the Virtuoso+, so you're grinding fine enough for espresso and also able to more accurately dial in your shots to extract all of that amazing coffee goodness.
Not only that, but the Baratza Encore ESP can handle every brewing method you throw at it from espresso to pour over to french press.
With 40 Grind Settings The Baratza Encore ESP coffee grinder is a home espresso grinder engineered to grind perfectly for any of your home brewing methods. Its reliable performance and wide range enable coffee lovers to create café-style drinks with ease in the comfort of their own home.
The 54mm dosing cup (and included 58mm adapter ring) make it easy to transfer grounds directly into a portafilter for less mess and an even distribution that's ready to tamp! Fits most home espresso machine portafilter baskets.
Manufactured in Europe, the Encore ESP’s 40mm conical M2 steel burrs produce consistent and precise grinds required for espresso and all brew methods.
The Encore ESP's cone burr is easily removable with no additional tools, making cleaning and maintenance very easy.
The Encore ESP utilizes a simple and efficient direct drive gear reduction transmission to move power from the DC motor to the rotating cone burr. A thermal overload cutout protects the motor from overheating due to excessive use.
To maximize freshness, the Baratza Encore ESP minimizes the ground coffee left in the grinder.
The Encore ESP is optimized for espresso from #1-20 and produces excellent filter grinds from #21-40.
A powerful, high torque DC motor effortlessly drives the burrs. This motor turns slowly resulting in cool, quieter operation, and permits long grinding duty cycles. The circuitry is equipped with an automatically resetting, thermal cutoff switch.
An innovative burr calibration system ensures that each grinder comes ready to grind for most home espresso machine portafilter baskets. If necessary, the grinders can be user-calibrated.
With unique speed control, the Encore ESP uses a combination of gear and electronic speed reduction to control the rotation of the burr to 550 RPM. This slow speed reduces heat, noise, and static generation in the grinder. It also ensures that the beans feed smoothly into the burrs.
The Encore ESP features an updated on-off switch.
