  • Nyeri is one of the main coffee growing regions of Kenya. Most of the farmers in Kenya are small farms from 1/4 to 3 acres in size. In addition, it wasn't until 2006 that Kenya allowed for direct trade of coffee, bypassing the weekly coffee auction held in Nairobi. This has allowed for a much closer relationship between coffee buyer and grower and resulted in much improved coffee sourcing. 

    The Ngunguru Factory is a great resource to farmers in the area and is known as one of the highest quality washing stations in Kenya based on the high prices their coffees command at auction. In addition to providing farming input and training, members of the co-op also have the opportunity to receive seedlings from the factory that allow them to further improve their crop. 

  • We're roasting this Kenya coffee on the lighter side. It brings out the unique acidity and fantastic bright notes that are so common in Kenyan coffees. Sweet tangerine and a honey sweetness in the cup as well as a complex body make this coffee the perfect cup to spice up your winter mornings.

    Processing: Fully Washed, fermented 24 hours in coffee tanks, sorted and soaked an additional 12-24 hours.
