The Black 'n Bourbon Coffee Cocktail Recipe

It’s the evening of Thanksgiving. The main course is ending, you’re starting to hit that food coma phase, but the night is still young. You need a drink, and preferably one with coffee…and maybe also bourbon.

Enter the Black ‘n Bourbon.

Cold Brew + Bourbon Cocktail

When my family gets together for the holidays it can be quite the production. I’m the youngest of six siblings who are all married and, at this point, all have their own families. So the crew is huge. My dad, years ago, built an extension for our dining room table just so we could fit the entire crew around it. It’s still amazing that my mom found a tablecloth to fit over it.

Sometime after the dinner event, dessert is on everyone’s mind, but we’re usually still too stuffed to the gills to actually make the effort to indulge in the list of pies and desserts. That’s when it’s nice to enjoy just simple cocktail.

The Black ‘n Bourbon Coffee Cocktail is simple to make and the perfect accompaniment to your holiday feast. If you love playing bartender, whip up one or two of these at a time using a cocktail shaker. Alternatively, you can follow the proportions below and mix together a crowd-sized batch.

Black ‘n Bourbon Coffee Cocktail
Yields 1 drink

1 1/2 ounces Black Ice Brew cold brew coffee concentrate
1 ounce bourbon
1 ounce heavy cream
1/2 ounce maple syrup
Ice
Ground nutmeg

Add the coffee, bourbon, cream and maple syrup to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds. Strain into a glass and top with ground nutmeg.

Black n’ Bourbon Coffee Cocktail (for a crowd)

3 parts Black Ice Brew cold brew coffee concentrate
2 parts bourbon
2 parts heavy cream
1 part maple syrup
Ice
Ground nutmeg

Follow the instructions above, but use a large airtight container to shake the ingredients up rather than a cocktail shaker. Strain out the ice and pour the mixture into a pitcher. Serve cocktails topped with ground nutmeg.
