What Is An Americano?

Americano is an interesting drink. It’s basically espresso with hot water added to it. The history behind it is really cool.

The americano got its name in World War I. When the American GI’s were over in Italy, they would make all of their espresso drinks, and the GI’s weren’t really thrilled with the really heavy, thick espresso that the Italians were making, so they asked them to add hot water to it, and it became as the Americano. A really great drink, straight up espresso, water.
