EKG Pro vs EKG

You'll see 2 options on here - the Stagg EKG and the Stagg EKG Pro. The Pro adds a couple of neat features that you might be interested in. These include:

  • Schedule your kettle to bring the water to brew temp at a specific time
  • A clock (of course - you need this in order to schedule!)
  • Adjustable hold mode - keep water hot for 15, 30 45 or 60 minutes (standard EKG only holds for 60 minutes)
  • Chime - turn it on or off and determine how loud (no chime on the EKG)
  • Altitude - prevent boiling over if you're brewing in the Himalayas. Or Denver.

Let's be honest

do you need this kettle to brew amazing coffee at home? No. Personally, I brewed coffee using a $29 Black and Decker kettle for a very long time. But, to quote Ferris Bueller -

Couple this with a Chemex and an Acaia scale and you'll be the envy of every early morning coffee drinker in the neighborhood.

And that's what I'll say about that.
