Yirgacheffe - “YERG-uh-chef-ee” - a region in central southern Ethiopia. It's common practice for coffees to be named after the region they came from.
All of the Ethiopian coffees we roast come from Dominion Coffee Importers which is directly tied to the New Covenant Foundation (NCF).
The NCF raises leaders that can minister to their own communities through church planting, health, education initiatives, and business training.
NCF actively seeks to make the people in the communities that they reach self sustaining. Not only financially, but also spiritually, educationally and in many other ways. The goal is to make people self sufficient - not to give them a handout.
It all starts with the coffee, but for these communities it grows into so much more.
